THE MILK LETTER : A MESSAGE TO MY PATIENTS
By: Robert M. Kradjian, MD

Daly City, CA 94015 USA

"MILK"Just the word itself sounds comforting! "How about a nice cup of hot milk?" The last time you heard that question it was from someone who cared for you--and you appreciated their effort.

The entire matter of food and especially that of milk is surrounded with emotional and cultural importance. Milk was our very first food. If we were fortunate it was our mother's milk. A loving link, given and taken. It was the only path to survival. If not mother's milk it was cow's milk or soy milk "formula"--rarely it was goat, camel or water buffalo milk.

Breastfeeding Introduction

Congratulations, you are preparing to be a new parent!

You have probably discovered by now that there are many considerations and decisions you have to make concerning your newborn. It can definitely become a little overwhelming to make so many decisions about so many things especially for a new parent. One of those decisions will have to be about feeding your baby.

Whether you have already chosen to breastfeed or if you are undecided, this website can help you with some practical information and understanding of what breastfeeding is all about.

Your first impression of breastfeeding may be met with anxiety and concerns. Someone may have given you an earful about the trials and tribulations of breastfeeding. How I wish I could be readily available to answer your questions and alleviate your anxiety about feeding choice. Truth is, I cannot but I would like to help guide you through and share with you some information about breastfeeding experiences. Not only that, I have also set up a FORUM whereby all potential and current breastfeeding mothers can write in to voice out anything with concern to breastfeeding.

I could not have asked for a larger audience when the opportunity to write this website came along. With so many destitute parents today having an infant, feeding choice, without all the information on hand were pinned down with frustration and dilemma. Thus, I would like to share all the information I could offer about breastfeeding.

Yes, it is a personal choice to breastfeeding. I would like you to make that choice with a greater understanding and wider knowledge about breastfeeding and not just based on mere hearsay. I have only come to find out that not having enough knowledge about breastfeeding can be a very frustrating experience when I first had my baby. Later, many mothers that I have come to know gave up breastfeeding not because of any valid reason but simply out of pure ignorance.

I hope this website will be able to provide a practical tool to you and give you a greater understanding about breastfeeding. This is not strictly informational but to offer you a two-way communication whereby you can interact. After all, this is a website, not something static like a book or newspaper.

Hope you enjoy! Do sign up for our newsletter to gather more information and updates on breastfeeding or any other related issues. Knowing too well what you would not want to miss are special promotions and shopping events happening every now and then that will also be constantly posted.
